Caitlyn
Valovick Moore
Caitlyn Valovick Moore joined
the flute section of
The
Virginia Symphony in 2005. A native of northern Michigan,
she attended her final two years of high school at Interlochen Arts
Academy and went on to receive her Bachelor of Music from DePaul
University, and her Master of Music from Northwestern University.
Before coming to Virginia, Caitlyn was a member of the Civic
Orchestra of Chicago, where she worked under conductors Cliff Colnot,
Lorin Maazel, Rossen Milanov, Stephan Sanderling, and others. While
in Chicago, she also played with the Chicago Sinfonietta and the
Grant Park Orchestra. In 2004, she won second prize in the National
Flute Association's Piccolo Artist Competition.
Caitlyn’s primary teachers were Walfrid Kujala and Mary Stolper,
with additional study from Stephanie Mortimore. She has also
performed in master classes for William Bennett. |
