Frequently Asked
Questions:
Who is in charge of the
Flute Faire?
Patti Watters is
the
Flute Faire
Coordinator.
How do we get
to the event?
See our new "Directions"
page
What do the
fees go to? Is this a
“for profit” event?
The Hampton Roads Flute
Faire is non profit.
The event is presented
by professional flutists
in Hampton Roads, in
partnership with the
Governor’s School for
the Arts and Old
Dominion University.
The participating
professional flutists
are listed as our “Advisory
Board.”
The event is a gift to
the local community that
encourages everyone to
participate in music,
and especially the art
of playing the flute.
The Advisor Board
donates their time for
the event. Tasks such
as registration, vendors
registration, planning
for accompanists,
program design,
logistical planning,
etc. are divided among
the Advisor Board
members to make the
event happen.
The money that is paid
to the Hampton Roads
Flute Faire offsets the
expenses of the event
(printing, Guest Artist
expenses, websites,
accompanists, etc.) The
goal is that the balance
sheet = $0.00 for each
year. Fees are set in
an attempt to achieve a
zero balance sheet.
Donations to the Flute
Faire should be tax
deductable. (As always,
consult with your tax
professional.)
Donations to the Flute
Faire are
always appreciated, and
often make the
difference in the bottom
line of our balance
sheet!!!
